Price from High to Low: Copper - Stainless Steel - Aluminum - Iron

(Most  furniture  quoted  by  UPdecors  uses  stainless  steel,  but  other  metals  may  be  used depending on the specific requirements of some products.)

Stainless Steel

Commonly  used  for  furniture  frames,  it  has  anti-corrosion  properties.  When  quoting,  we offer our clients with the option of 304 or 201 material, as the prices differ.

Notes:

1.         If copper material is requested  (Brass, Copper, or Bronze). We suggest creating a copper-like finish using stainless steel, as many products on the market are stainless steel with a brass finish.

2.         Electroplating is recommended for stainless steel to achieve various colors. Even for black finishes, electroplating is preferable because paint tends easily to peel off.

3.         Stainless  steel  can  be finished in various ways, such as mirror polish, brushed, antiqued, or hammered effects (as shown in picture 3).

Iron

Iron is sturdy but easily to rust. It usually undergoes anti-rust treatments.

For  example,  iron  art  furniture  (as  shown  below)  is  crafted  using  forging  or  casting processes to create intricate patterns. Iron art products are typically slender and decorative. Spray painting and baking paint are commonly used for coloring.

Aluminum

Aluminum is lightweight and corrosion-resistant, making it suitable for outdoor furniture or the frames of modern-style furniture. As shown below, most metal parts of outdoor furniture are made from aluminum.

Brass

Brass is usually golden yellow and bright in appearance. The addition of zinc makes it harder, more wear-resistant,  and  gives  it  excellent  corrosion  resistance.  For  this  reason,  brass  is commonly chosen for furniture and lighting fixtures.

However, when used outdoors and exposed to rain, brass will oxidize over time, leading to a green  patina  (which  can  provide  an  antique  appearance).  While  brass  does  not  rust, oxidation may alter its appearance.

Copper

Pure copper has a reddish-brown color and is commonly used in electrical wires (owing to its conductivity). It is extremely expensive and soft. In furniture, copper  usually refers to brass, but red copper (higher density) is more resistant to oxidation.
